What iS Clinical Claims, and What It Does Not Publish

iS Clinical's own benefit list for GeneXC: helps prevent the signs of aging, enhanced appearance of skin elasticity and firmness, antioxidant protection, helps improve the overall health and integrity of the skin, skin hydration, and brightening. On its four named ingredients, iS Clinical describes the Extremozymes as a proprietary combination of enzymes it says help protect skin from environmental stressors, the mixed fruit acid as natural fruit and sugar acids that enhance exfoliation and smooth skin, superoxide dismutase as an antioxidant-rich natural enzyme it credits with helping protect against the visual effects of photodamage, and its vitamin C as a stabilized form that it says guards against the visible effects of photodamage.

What iS Clinical does not publish anywhere on that page is a study. No panel size, no duration, no percentage of improvement. It marks several claims as tested and leaves the testing unpublished.

The ingredient-level science is better documented than the product is. A review in the Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology sets out the mechanisms behind topical vitamin C as an antioxidant and in collagen synthesis. A separate systematic review in the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology looked at topical vitamin C and wrinkles and found that the products studied combined vitamin C with other ingredients, which made vitamin C's individual contribution hard to isolate, and called for stronger studies. Both concern topical vitamin C in general, not this serum.

iS Clinical's directions are to apply three to four drops to the palm of the hand, then use your fingertips to dab and smooth it evenly over the face and neck. That is the whole instruction. iS Clinical gives no time of day and does not mention a sunscreen step, so anything you read about morning use or layering order is somebody's advice rather than the brand's.
